Hallowell’s Arts & Cultural Committee invites local artists, art students, schools and groups to submit ideas for murals on the theme of ‘welcoming community”. The murals will act as a visual representation of Hallowell’s recent welcoming city resolution. Each image in a planned series of four mural will be from a different local artist or group. Chosen designers will be asked to reproduce the design on a provided 4’x4’ panel to be mounted on the side of a prominent building in downtown Hallowell.

Up to three initial designs can be submitted as .jpg images of any size, as long as the ratios are square and can be enlarged to 4’x4’. Please send designs or any questions to project coordinator August Rudy at hallowellarts@gmail.com. Please make sure to include contact information with your design. Mural designs will be chosen by Hallowell community members by April 28th. Selected artists will have from then until the end of June to complete the finished panels, at which point they will be mounted on the side of a building in Hallowell.
