Murals On The Fence!
“Murals On The Fence” sidewalk art gallery opens on Saturday, July 28 as a part of the Paint The Street celebration in downtown Hallowell, from 2 pm to 5 pm.
We have now collected close to 100 murals, hand-painted canvases of various sizes that have been created by Hallowell artists, civic leaders and organizations, schools, non-profit agencies, families, individuals, businesses and merchants, all collaborating to show off the unique spirit of downtown Hallowell in these original works of art.
The canvas murals will be hung on the construction fencing that will soon return to the Water Street road reconstruction project this time, on the West side of the street. The public will see the exhibit curated all together for the first time at the Paint The Street Party that kicks off with live music at 2 pm on Saturday, July 29. For complete details, visit the “Events” page on this web site.
The public will also be able to view and enjoy the “Murals On The Fence” Art Exhibit on Sunday, July 28th during our Water Street Promenade event taking place between 11 am and 2 pm. Hallowell’s downtown restaurants and eateries will be offering special breakfast and brunch options to encourage people to take a leisurely stroll through the sidewalk art gallery and then take a photo with their favorite mural and submit it to our online gallery.
