Hallowell’s summer concert series is back! Rock on the River is in full swing, with local bands playing free outdoor concerts from 7 to 8:30pm every Tuesday night from June through August as part of the beloved Hallowell tradition of live music on the Kennebec.

This marks the 21st summer of Rock on the River, and Brad Truman of B&R Studios has provided excellent sound for the past several summers. According to Coordinator Steve Vellani, Rock on the River has featured a lot of local talent over the years and is lucky enough to have many returning Hallowell bands, such as the Boneheads, perform year after year. He says that “our little city is blessed with so much talent, past and present, which…has been instrumental (pun intended) in making Hallowell the Mecca that it is.”

With great turnouts for the first few performances, the whole community will not want to miss the Dave Wakefield Blues Band on Tuesday, August 1st as well as the rest of the concert series lineup. Come celebrate summer in Hallowell and join friends, family and neighbors around the Bandstand or relax in the chairs on the bulkhead to enjoy the music and water view.
